Frequently Asked Questions

How do I start a capture session?

A distraction photo is already loaded when you first open the app. Just tap "Start Capture" and show the screen to your kid or pet. The front camera captures photos automatically at the interval you set.

Where are my photos saved?

All photos are saved to your device's Photo Library in a "DistractCam" album. You can also review them in the app's History screen. Deleting a session from History does not delete the photos from your Photo Library.

How do I change the distraction photo or video?

Tap the preview image on the main screen. You can choose any photo or video from your library, or use the starter photo that comes with the app.

How do I stop a capture session?

Double-tap the screen during a session. You can change the number of taps required in Settings (1-3 taps) to prevent accidental exits when kids or pets are holding the phone.

What does DistractCam Pro include?

Pro is a one-time purchase (no subscription) that unlocks video recording, burst mode, sound effects, voice prompts, animation overlays, and slow motion. All future Pro features are included.

Can I restore my purchase on a new device?

Yes. Go to Settings and tap "Restore Purchases." Your Pro purchase is tied to your Apple ID and can be restored on any device signed in with the same account.

Does DistractCam collect any data?

No. DistractCam works entirely on your device. There are no accounts, no cloud uploads, no analytics, and no tracking. See our Privacy Policy for details.

Why does the app need camera and photo library permissions?

Camera access is needed to capture photos and video. Photo Library access is needed to save your captures and to let you choose distraction photos or videos from your library.
